Jennifer Gallinson joins the Board of Education after winning the seat uncontested in the April 4 General Election. Gallinson was sworn in for a four-year term, along with returning board members Tony Forchetti, Michael Gilmore and Lou Gross at the April 25 meeting.

Mrs. Gallinson grew up in Northbrook, graduating from Glenbrook North High School and returned to Northbrook three years ago.

She is a lawyer who also has experience in professional development, recruiting and law firm management. She was involved in her neighborhood public school in Chicago, Oscar Mayer Elementary School and served on the Friends of Oscar Mayer Board for three years. The Board raised over $500,000 per year to enhance the school budget with teaching assistants for early elementary grades, technology, air conditioning, playground safety and field trips, she said.

She has two daughters, one who attends Greenbriar School and one who attends Northbrook Junior High.

“The District has an extremely dedicated group of teaching professionals, a strong parent support network and fantastic students eager to learn. As a new board member this year, I hope to bring a fresh voice and thoughtful perspective to the Board and look forward to continuing the tradition of excellence in District 28,” she said.

Tony Forchetti is beginning his third four-year term and Lou Gross and Michael Gilmore are starting their second four-year terms as board members.

As part of the reorganization meeting, the board elected Tracy Katz Muhl as president and Tony Forchetti as vice president.

Former Board President Josh Prober was recognized for eight years of service.
